The headline says it all. 

All of us with the Arizona Varsity team were stunned to see ALA West Foothills drop in the 4A rankings from No. 2 to No. 4 this week despite a win over Independence. The Guardians knocked off Mica Mountain, which was No. 1 at the time, two weeks ago. 

So what could have changed? Could it have been an error on the part of some of the media? Have other team been more impressive? 

The beauty of the media poll is it brings together a large group of individuals and allows them to provide their own rankings. We simply tally them up and roll with it. 

So, yes, while we are confused this also shows why the media poll has been successful now going on two years. Whether it be bulletin board material or not, it stirs the pot a bit and creates conversation. 

All of that is good for Arizona high school football.
