Pitt grabs commitment from Basha wide receiver Baldwin

UPDATED: 6/14/26

The commitments continue to pour in during the month of June. Overall, we’ve had eight new commitments since the last update here on June 6. That brings our total to 42 known commitments. In addition to that, a total of 40 seniors received college offers during that time.

Start times for games are at Arizona time.

Jaden Baldwin led Basha in receptions last season with 64 catches (for 820 yards). The 5-11, 180-pound receiver has shut down his recruitment and committed to the University of Pittsburgh last Tuesday.

“My pops always told me one thing that stuck with me: Go where it feels like you’re walking into your own home,” Baldwin said in a text message. “That’s exactly how Pitt felt. I’m excited to be a part of a program with so much tradition and history. Even though I grew up in Arizona, my family is from Western Pennsylvania and I lived there for a few years. Because of that, I’ve always felt a connection to the area. Every time I’m back there, it just feels different.”

Baldwin watched spring ball videos of the Panthers and got to see the identity the team is building for the ‘26 season. He received his offer from Pitt back in December of 2023 (following his freshman season). Jaden is a legacy commit as his father (Jon) and grandfather (Jeff) both played for the Panthers.

Pittsburgh will open at home in Acrisure Stadium against Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 5. The game will air nationwide on the CW at 9:30 a.m. The Panthers finished 8-5 overall last season (6-2 in the ACC) and played in the Military Bowl in Annapolis, Md.

Arizona State added another in-state commitment when Mesa athlete Kingston Anetema was offered from and committed to the Sun Devils on Thursday night while the Jackrabbits were competing in a 7-on-7 tournament on the Tempe campus. Anetema is being recruited as a receiver and he is the third commit from an Arizona high school for this class.

”After being in the Valley this past year, it just felt like home,” Anetema said in a text message. “Being able to be coached and learn from (wide receivers) Coach (Hines) Ward, an NFL great, it was a no brainer.”

The 6-1, 190-pounder competes on both sides of the ball (WR & CB) for Mesa. He moved to Arizona midway through last season after transferring from Torrance, Calif. In seven games with MHS, Anetema caught 39 passes for 471 yards and scored five touchdowns. On defense, he made 26 tackles and intercepted two passes.

Arizona State is 19-8 over the past two years under Kenny Dillingham. It’s the most wins in consecutive seasons since 2013-14. The Sun Devils open at home in Tempe on Sept. 5 against Morgan State (Md.). ASU finished 8-5 in 2025 and played in the Sun Bowl. The Big 12 slate will begin with a game far from home on Sept. 19. The Devils will play Kansas in the Union Jack Classic at Wembley Stadium in London.

New Mexico had one of its winningest seasons of all time in 2025. More help is on the way from its neighboring state as Valley Vista defensive end Zade Brown committed to the Lobos last Monday.

”I chose to become a Lobo because of what (Head) Coach (Jason) Eck and his coaching staff is building,” Brown said in a text message. “They are changing the culture and I want to be a part of that. From the moment I met (offensive line) Coach (Cody) Booth, it was obvious he believed in me and wants to develop and help me achieve my goal of playing in the NFL. The support that student athletes get from the professors, coaches, athletic trainers, and staff makes it feel like a big family.”

Brown (6-5, 260) made 60 tackles for the Monsoon last season and was named to the Second Team All-6A Fiesta Region. He is a three-sport athlete (wresting & track/field) that threw the shot put and discus during the spring. Brown carries a 3.70 GPA.

New Mexico has nine nationally-televised games this season. The Lobos will open the year with a pair of home games with the first coming on Sept. 5 against Central Michigan. FS1 will have the broadcast at 7 p.m. UNM improved from 5-7 in 2024 to 9-4 last year and played in the Rate Bowl at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix. The Lobos finished 6-2 in the Mountain West Conference.

Keeping it in the Mountain West, UNLV gained a new commitment as Donovan McNabb Jr. announced he will be playing for the Rebels last Friday. McNabb is a wide receiver at Brophy and has always been coached by his father, Donovan McNabb, who played 13 seasons in the NFL.

McNabb Jr. is 6-foot and 180 pounds. He chose the Rebels over 19 offers from other schools, including Arizona, Iowa, Washington, and Syracuse (his dad’s alma mater). He caught 23 passes for 280 yards and had four touchdowns for the Broncos last season. His workload should increase significantly as Brophy’s top two receivers from last season will be playing at Power Four schools this year.

UNLV has played in three straight bowl games and has made the Mountain West Conference championship game each season. The Rebels finished 10-4 last year and played in the Frisco Bowl in Texas. This year’s game against New Mexico will take place in Albuquerque on Nov. 14 (5:30 p.m. The CW). Prior to that, UNLV opens at home on Aug. 29 against Memphis. Fox will have the game in prime time at 7 p.m. That will be a week before most of the schools in the country begin their seasons.

Hassan Smith won a state championship last year with Desert Mountain. The 6-1, 170-pound cornerback made his commitment to Boise State last Sunday.

”I feel like it was the opportunity to be developed the best way possible on and off the field around elite coaches,” Smith said in a text message. “I don’t think you can beat playing for a championship-caliber team knowing you’re going the right way long-term in life, and also playing for a wonderful city that absolutely loves their players!”

Smith had 30 tackles, two interceptions, and a sack for the Wolves, who claimed the 5A title for the first time in school history last December. He was a Second Team All-5A Northeast Valley Region selection. His commitment to the Broncos came following his official visit to BSU.

This will be the first season in the new-look Pac-12 Conference for Boise State. The school has released its planned color schemes for the fans this fall. The first home game will be on Sept. 12 against Memphis. Fans will be decked out in blue except for the south end zone, which will be orange. That game against Memphis will be shown by USA at 3 p.m. The season opener will be a week prior at Oregon (12:30 p.m. CBS). Boise State finished 9-5 last season and played in the final LA Bowl.

Top-ranked Casteel punter Balke offered by UW & Arizona

UPDATED: 6/14/26

Colleges across the nation continue to take notice of the prep talent in Arizona each season. More than 350 players from the Class of 2026 signed with schools to advance their football careers and receive an education.

Times for all future games are in Arizona time.

Casteel punter Nolan Balke received his first two offers this week. Both were from West schools within Power Four conferences: Washington and Arizona. Balke is ranked a five-star punter for the Class of ‘27 by Chris Sailer Kicking. He carries a 4.50 GPA and can also place kick and hold for kicks. Last month at a Kohl’s Kicking camp in Atlanta, Balke was ranked a five-star prospect and was placed at No. 5 in the country. Strengths mentioned were athleticism, coordination, and leg strength. Last season for Casteel, Balke averaged 42.6 yards per punt and unleashed a 64-yarder in the 6A semifinals against Salpointe Catholic.

The week before the NFL regular season begins, Washington will get Sunday television time as the annual Apple Cup will be played on Sept. 6 against Washington State. The home game in Seattle will kick off at 1 p.m. and be shown on NBC. The Huskies went 9-4 (5-4 in the Big Ten) and defeated Boise State in the LA Bowl.

Arizona head coach Brent Brennan saw his contract extended through the 2030 season. That was after the Wildcats won nine games for just the eighth time in program history. Included in that was a dominating 23-7 victory in the Territorial Cup over Arizona State. Arizona will begin its season at home in Tucson on Sept. 5 with a night game against Northern Arizona.

This list shows four-year college offers received by seniors throughout the state. It’s not limited to just 6A and 5A. It will be constantly updated as we approach the Early Signing Period this December. Those will be the first days that high school seniors can sign a letter of intent to agree to attend an institution.

Verbal commitments are shown in bold.
