Week 1 of the Arizona high school football season has officially arrived.
Small schools took center-stage last week and showed out with the entire state watching. This week, they share the spotlight with big schools.
Many top matchups take place on Thursday, Aug. 28, this week, as the Labor Day Weekend has some programs traveling out of state. With the big schools preparing to kick off, it’s time to unveil the first rendition of the entire statewide media poll, featuring the 2A through 6A conferences.
Small school rankings have been updated to reflect last week’s results. Big school rankings have also been updated to reflect some new voters, with even more joining in the next week or two.
Here’s a look at where each team ranks in the eyes of the media – the people on the ground – with Liberty and Desert Edge leading the way for the top two conferences in the state.
